LuxeGo Pvt Ltd ("we", "us", "our", or "LuxeGo") operates the LuxeGo mobile application and related
services (collectively, the "App" or "Services"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and
handling your personal information responsibly in accordance with applicable Nepali laws, including the
Individual Privacy Act, 2075.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from riders and drivers, how we use, share, and
protect it, and your rights and choices. By using the LuxeGo App, you consent to the practices described
here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information necessary to provide safe, reliable ride-sharing services in Nepal.
A. Information You Provide
- Account creation: Full name, mobile phone number, email (optional), profile
photo, gender (optional for safety/preference features).
- For drivers only: Government-issued ID (citizenship certificate/passport),
driver's license, vehicle registration certificate, vehicle insurance details,
profile/background verification documents (we may use third-party services for verification).
- Payment-related (via Khalti): We do not store your Khalti credentials or full
payment details; transaction references are processed securely through Khalti.
- Communications: Messages sent via in-app chat, support requests, feedback.
B. Information Collected Automatically
- Precise location data: Real-time GPS location while the App is in use (for ride
matching, navigation via Google Maps, tracking, drop-off), and limited background location (for
safety features or to show nearby rides — you can manage this in device settings).
- Device & usage data: Device model, OS version, IP address, app version,
ride history (pick-up/drop-off points, routes, fares, duration), ratings and reviews
given/received, in-app interactions.
- Other: Crash logs, advertising identifiers (for analytics/improvement).
C. From Third Parties
- Google Maps: Route and navigation data.
- Khalti: Payment confirmation details (no card/bank storage on our side).
- Verification partners: Results of driver background/document checks (with your
consent).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only for the following legitimate purposes:
- To operate the core service: Match riders with drivers, enable real-time
tracking, provide navigation via Google Maps, calculate fares.
- To process payments/payouts securely via Khalti.
- To verify driver identities and ensure platform safety (background checks,
document validation).
- To facilitate in-app chat/communication during rides.
- To send essential notifications (ride confirmations, receipts, safety alerts,
support responses).
- To improve the App: Analyze anonymized usage patterns, fix bugs, develop
features.
- To prevent fraud, ensure safety, and handle incidents (e.g., sharing location
in emergencies).
- To comply with Nepali law (e.g., court orders, regulatory requests).
- Marketing/promotions: Only with your consent/opt-in (you can opt out anytime).
We limit use to the purpose for which data was collected, as required under Nepali privacy law.
3. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only when necessary:
- During active rides — Riders see: Driver's name, photo, vehicle details,
rating, real-time location. Drivers see: Rider's name, photo, pick-up/drop-off locations, phone
number (via masked/in-app calling where possible).
- Service providers — With trusted partners (Google Maps for navigation, Khalti
for payments, cloud/storage providers, verification services) under strict confidentiality and
security agreements.
- Safety & emergencies — Location and contact details may be shared with
emergency services, police, or authorities if required for safety or legal reasons.
- Legal compliance — If required by Nepali law, court order, government
authority, or to protect rights/safety.
- Business changes — In case of merger, acquisition, or asset sale (with notice
where feasible).
- Aggregated/anonymized data — Shared for analytics/research (no personal
identifiers).
4. Your Choices and Rights
- Location — Disable precise location in device settings or App permissions (may
limit ride matching/tracking).
- Marketing — Opt out of promotional messages via App settings.
- In-app chat — Use only during rides; history may be retained briefly for
support.
- Access, correction, deletion — Contact us to request access to, correction of,
or deletion of your data (subject to verification and legal retention needs).
- Account deletion — Request via App support; we will delete personal data except
where required for legal/safety reasons (e.g., ride dispute records).
- Age — Services are for users 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from
under-18s.
Under Nepal's Privacy Act, you have rights to consent withdrawal (where processing relies on
consent), protection from unauthorized use, and secure handling.
5. Data Retention
We retain data only as long as needed:
- Active accounts: While in use.
- Ride/location history: Typically 30–90 days (longer for safety/incident reports
or disputes).
- Driver verification documents: Retained as required for compliance/safety.
- After deletion/request: Retained minimally for legal purposes (e.g., tax,
disputes).
6. Data Security
We use reasonable measures (encryption for transmission, access controls, secure servers) to protect
your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no system is completely secure —
protect your account credentials and report suspicious activity.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified via in-app notice or email. Continued
use after changes means acceptance.
